(Should go to a place to meet some friends now, so here I just published the picture. Complete review later! :* <— written yesterday)
VoilĂ , I’m home! I’m free!I finished the project we done yesterday. ;)
So here’s the story.
I discussed about my face with Lynn from Lovely Cosme (ladies & gentlemen, take a look at her blog—it could change your (cosmetics) life! XD). I told her I got pimples after using a toner that contains alcohol. It’s a little weird since usually oily skin + alcohol could be a good partner. Was I wrong about my skin? Or my skin should be dry but I treated it as an oily skin with a strong toner that actually dried it more and then…the pimples came?! And yes, there is a theory about oil on skin: when your skin overdried, it will secrete more oil and it can cause acne.
And Lynn gave me some advice: what about trying to discover it yourself? Reduce facial foam usage, and in the morning, use only light cleansing water just like she did. After that, she nicely sent me two tiny bottles of her ‘cleansing water’ that actually is a toner, not a true cleanser! LOL. :D
She sent her Humphreys Witch Hazel Toner to me. I imitate her way: use it in the morning with a cotton pad (yeah, just like you apply a toner!). I try to minimize using facial foam. Only when I feel so Cinderella (which means ‘dusty’). *check here about my foamfoam*
This toner smells so lovely! Floral, fresh, reminds me of good things. It’s a light liquid, and leaves skin feeling cool and clean! So far, after a month (or less? or more?), no bad experience at all! Break-out free, no irritation.
by the way, wanna know what’s inside the toner? here:
filtered water, aloe barbadensis leaf juice*, hamamelis virginiana (witch hazel) water, vegetable glycerin, sodium pca, hyaluronic acid, panthenol (pro-vitamin b5), allantoin, extracts of [arnica montana* (arnica), calendula officinalis* (calendula), camellia sinensis* (white tea), aspalathus linearis (red tea), camellia sinensis (black tea), camellia sinensis (green tea), cucumis sativus (cucumber), carica papaya (papaya), ananas sativus (pineapple), hedychium coronarium (awaphui), althaea officinalis (marshmallow) root, dianthus superbus (lilac pink herb), curcuma longa (tumeric)], polysorbate 20, hydrogenated castor oil, phenoxyethanol (rose essence), ethyl hexyl glycerin, fragrance

Whoa! It seems beneficial, isn’t it? ;) Even witch hazel, the one that sometimes could be irritating to some skin, is just fine on me. Yippie! XD
Okay, besides Humphreys, Lynn also told me to try Virgin Coconut Oil to remove make up. My make up collection are all minerals (I posted about my make up weapons here). I only use powder foundation and blush + tinted lip balm for everyday look. But even a mineral make up can clog pores if you don’t clean it before you sleep. :) And it may be mixed with pollution, dirts, and oil from your face. So I stay to cleansing routine after using make up.
But these two weeks, I only use VCO + water, or VCO + steamed towel. AND YES, although the title is oil, it’s not greasy! I pick a small amount, and massage my face with that virgin coconut oil, and rinse with water. I can still see an oily thing on my face, but I let it be there for a night. When I wake up the other day, there’s no problem at all! Surprisingly, my face looks fine. Matte but not dry. Not only that, my cheek acnes looks more visible, day by day, I can see it’s getting clearer and clearer after using VCO! Just wow.
What I like about VCO:
1. All natural.
2. Contains good acids. Details later. :P
3. Not greasy.
4. Cheap.
5. INDONESIAN MADE! So proud of it! :’)
6. Cleanses well & deeply.
7. Just an additional number to invite more luck! (seven is my lucky number :P)
If you want a natural cleansing oil with good benefit, try VCO! :D
Finalement, what achievement had I gain from changing my skin care routine?
*happy grin*
My skin is a true combination. Really. My cheeks are dry. But nose and forehead are slightly oily. When the weather is cold in Bandung City Honey Bunny, my cheeks can be flaky and itchy while my nose is fine. Why I didn’t notice it before?! LOL. I was sure I have a full oily face, but now I know the truth. At least, so far, that’s my conclusion.
How’s my facial foam’s life? I still use it sometimes. But not more than 3 times a week. Only after a busy-sweaty-dusty day. :)
That’s all for today. Fuuu, it’s quite long, the post. ;P
have a nice day! :*
