(20) Make It Normal!

Feeling abnormal when you use a reusable bag while others bring plastic?

Hey boys and girls, switch your mindset! ;) From now on, reusable bag is NORMAL, and the plastic bag is OUT OF DATE!

Green lifestyle should be normal from now on.

You’re cool if you use organic cosmetics.

You’re adorable if you stop testing animals.

You’re gorgeous if you always read ingredients.

You’re such a WOW if you classify trashes.

You’re lovable if you save orangutan (and other poor animals).

You’re an idol if you sing about ‘reboisasi.(OMG, I am flashed back to my elementary school Social studies everytime I hear such word! REBOISASI!)

You’re a star if you use ‘angkot’ or bus or bike!

You’re great if you befriend with everyone no matter how strange he/she is.

You’re funny if your joke can succeed Earth Hour 2013.

You’re outstanding everytime you hug a tree.

You’re cute if you reuse old envelopes to send greeting cards (you can creatively re-decorate them!.

You’re magical when you decide a day to be a vegan day (at least, a day can change the world, just like ONE hour of Earth Hour can save TONS of energy).

There’s still a lot new reasons to be the ‘it’ person! Google will give you more info! I only write a little from a bunch… :D

Happy Friday! Have a nice Saturday! <3

Bahasa Indonesia

Ini kalau kita mau jadi orang Indonesia.

Bersikaplah terbuka.

Indonesia negara yang serba berbeda.  Semua variasi ada di negeri ini.

Aneka suku, ras, agama, kesenian, budaya, bahasa, gaya hidup, bahkan nasib, semua ada di kepulauan kita.

Tak perlu terkejut menghadapi ketimpangan. Perbedaan.  Ketidaksamaan.  Warna-warni.

Selamat Hari Jumat! :)

my, oh, my wishlist! XD

Me Got A Trophy!

Look at this! A pink trophy! <3

Yeheey! Thanks a bunch, Shasha who has a nice blog! :D  As long as I know Shasha’s blog, her reviews are detailed, but very simple! And yes, she is so friendly.  She replies any comments on her posts.  :))

Okay, now what? What goes along with the trophy? Learn these:

the rules of the award:
1. Thank the person who have you the award with their blog link on your post.
2. Answer the following 4 questions.
3. Award the blogger appreciation award as many readers/commenters/followers as you’d like.
4. Let the blogger know you’ve just awarded them (by leaving a comment/email/tweet/etc).

the questions (with answers, to make it simple and short):

1. How long have you been blogging?

I started blogging when I was Junior High School, together with my best buddies to keep us in contact.  At that time, one of us (we are a trio, fyi) should go to Holland for students exchange.  That’s why we made a blog with Wordpress.  I continued making another blogs on WP.  The one for telling people funny story and life thingy through my days, one for selling my books, and another one that is still very active, cetakcetik that contains my short stories and poems.  Then I tried Blogspot and created another personal daily blog! Finally, I also looked at Tumblr and joined with it. On 2011, I made this Tumblr a beautiful beauty blog, since I really love cosmetics & art too. :) So, I’ve been blogging for 4 years, I think.

2. What are 1-2 reasons why you started blogging?

The first reason is to keep contact with my friends, just like I mentioned before,  and the second is, I love sharing and talking and looking at haul photos! LOL. :)

3. What types of blog do you like to follow/read?

Blogs with good-looking templates, unique headers, fun contents, cute pictures, pastel colours, cosmetic stuffs, and of course, a friendly owner! LOL.

4. What is 1 thing you would like to improve on as a blogger/on your blog?

My illustration.  I’d like to try different styles of illustration!

I proudly present this award to:

That’s all for today, folks! :D I’m editing my novel so I walk along through 2 worlds at the moment. :P Fiction world and real world.  Both are amazing! LOL.  See you! :*

Finally, I Can Make Friends with A Toner

(Should go to a place to meet some friends now, so here I just published the picture.  Complete review later! :* <— written yesterday)

VoilĂ , I’m home! I’m free!I finished the project we done yesterday. ;)

So here’s the story.

I discussed about my face with Lynn from Lovely Cosme (ladies & gentlemen, take a look at her blog—it could change your (cosmetics) life! XD). I told her I got pimples after using a toner that contains alcohol.  It’s a little weird since usually oily skin + alcohol could be a good partner.  Was I wrong about my skin? Or my skin should be dry but I treated it as an oily skin with a strong toner that actually dried it more and then…the pimples came?! And yes, there is a theory about oil on skin: when your skin overdried, it will secrete more oil and it can cause acne.

And Lynn gave me some advice: what about trying to discover it yourself? Reduce facial foam usage, and in the morning, use only light cleansing water just like she did.  After that, she nicely sent me two tiny bottles of her ‘cleansing water’ that actually is a toner, not a true cleanser! LOL.  :D

She sent her Humphreys Witch Hazel Toner to me. I imitate her way: use it in the morning with a cotton pad (yeah, just like you apply a toner!).  I try to minimize using facial foam.  Only when I feel so Cinderella (which means ‘dusty’).   *check here about my foamfoam*

This toner smells so lovely! Floral, fresh, reminds me of good things.  It’s a light liquid, and leaves skin feeling cool and clean! So far, after a month (or less? or more?), no bad experience at all! Break-out free, no irritation.

by the way, wanna know what’s inside the toner? here:

filtered water, aloe barbadensis leaf juice*, hamamelis virginiana (witch hazel) water, vegetable glycerin, sodium pca, hyaluronic acid, panthenol (pro-vitamin b5), allantoin, extracts of [arnica montana* (arnica), calendula officinalis* (calendula), camellia sinensis* (white tea), aspalathus linearis (red tea), camellia sinensis (black tea), camellia sinensis (green tea), cucumis sativus (cucumber), carica papaya (papaya), ananas sativus (pineapple), hedychium coronarium (awaphui), althaea officinalis (marshmallow) root, dianthus superbus (lilac pink herb), curcuma longa (tumeric)], polysorbate 20, hydrogenated castor oil, phenoxyethanol (rose essence), ethyl hexyl glycerin, fragrance

*certified organic

Not tested on animals.Contains no animal ingredients.

Who should use this product?

For all skin types. Especially for people with rough, dry or sensitive skin.

Directions for use:

After normal cleansing, dampen a cotton pad or splash in your hands and gently wipe skin. Follow with your favorite moisturizer.

*copy-paste from Lynn’s blog.  Your permission please, Lynn :) *

Whoa! It seems beneficial, isn’t it? ;)  Even witch hazel, the one that sometimes could be irritating to some skin, is just fine on me. Yippie! XD

Okay, besides Humphreys, Lynn also told me to try Virgin Coconut Oil to remove make up.  My make up collection are all minerals (I posted about my make up weapons here).  I only use powder foundation and blush + tinted lip balm for everyday look.  But even a mineral make up can clog pores if you don’t clean it before you sleep.  :) And it may be mixed with pollution, dirts, and oil from your face.  So I stay to cleansing routine after using make up.

But these two weeks, I only use VCO + water, or VCO + steamed towel.  AND YES, although the title is oil, it’s not greasy! I pick a small amount, and massage my face with that virgin coconut oil, and rinse with water.  I can still see an oily thing on my face, but I let it be there for a night.  When I wake up the other day, there’s no problem at all! Surprisingly, my face looks fine.  Matte but not dry.  Not only that, my cheek acnes looks more visible, day by day, I can see it’s getting clearer and clearer after using VCO! Just wow.

What I like about VCO:

1. All natural.

2. Contains good acids. Details later. :P

3. Not greasy.

4. Cheap.

5. INDONESIAN MADE! So proud of it! :’)

6. Cleanses well & deeply.

7. Just an additional number to invite more luck! (seven is my lucky number :P)

If you want a natural cleansing oil with good benefit, try VCO! :D

Finalement, what achievement had I gain from changing my skin care routine?

*happy grin*

My skin is a true combination.  Really.  My cheeks are dry.  But nose and forehead are slightly oily.  When the weather is cold in Bandung City Honey Bunny, my cheeks can be flaky and itchy while my nose is fine.  Why I didn’t notice it before?! LOL.  I was sure I have a full oily face, but now I know the truth.  At least, so far, that’s my conclusion.

How’s my facial foam’s life? I still use it sometimes.  But not more than 3 times a week.  Only after a busy-sweaty-dusty day.  :)

That’s all for today.  Fuuu, it’s quite long, the post. ;P

have a nice day! :*

*illustration details: draw a girl, flowers, leaves, and a bottle with Snowman Drawing Pen 0.1, give colours with Maped Color Peps & old Oriflame Blush On, scan it with a help of my father, crop a picture of Humpreys bottle illustration, and adjust the size & scale to match the bottle’s outline. ^u^

here I am, waiting for Jesus to rise up again on Easter Day! :D

happy Easter!

Deep Down The Sea...is My Fear Factor

The Body Shop has launched their Eco-Conscious Range.  It attracts me so much. As you know I’m addicted to anything eco-friendly.  They produce biodegradable hair care products and shower gels!  The shower gels named ‘Earth Lovers’, while the hair care called ‘Rainforest’.

From the first time I read about the range, I’ve been so excited.  When finally it arrived in Indonesia, I went to the nearest The Body Shop’s store and the first product I tried is Rainforest Shine Shampoo & Conditioner because there are only 2 variants available at that moment: Shine (for adding shine to your hair) & Moisture (for dry hair).

I used The Body Shop’s Olive Shampoo in 2010, and I like it.  So give olive another chance to take care of my hair via Rainforest Shine.  Actually it’s okay, but my hair is oily, so I prefer the Balance one, that created specifically for oily hair.I purchased it on December 1st.

Okay, to be quick, here’s the sneak peek of Rainforest Balance Shampoo taken from TBS UK’s website:

Cleanses to reduce excess oil for hair that looks clean and fresh all day.

  • Contains pracaxi oil, white nettle, seaweed and Community Trade sugar and aloe vera.

  • No silicones, no sulphates, no parabens and no colourants

  • For oily hair.
Full Ingredients
Aqua, Sucrose, Disodium Cocoyl Glutamate, Lauryl Betaine, Laureth-5 Carboxylic Acid, Propylene Glycol, PEG-55 Propylene Glycol Oleate, Sodium Chloride, Glycerin, Polyglyceryl-4 Caprate, Parfum, Sucrose Laurate, Sodium Benzoate, Isopropyl Alcohol, Salicylic Acid, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Fucus Vesiculosus Extract, Alcohol, Citric Acid, Pentaclethra Macroloba Seed Oil, Lamium Album Extract, Sodium Hydroxide, Tocopherol.

This shampoo contains no silicones, sulphates, parabens or colourants. It also meets our eco-conscious standard*. It is respectful to the aquatic environment, meets strict biodegradability standards, and minimises the use of non-sustainable packaging resources. We’re working hard to help protect our planet. Together we can make a difference.

how to use:

Mix a small amount in the hands with water to create lather. Massage into the scalp and rinse thoroughly. Follow with Balance Conditioner.

That’s the commercial claims.  What about its effect in real life?

After shampoo-ing with this shampoo, my hair is in good condition! Soft, light, clean, and happy.  But in total, I’m more in love with L’Occitane’s Soothing Shampoo that I reviewed 3 months ago, because it also soothes my scalp and smells sweet.  In my opinion, Rainforest Balance Shampoo has fresh pleasant scent, but less sweet, that’s why it’s a minus for me.  My nose is just…very picky. :P

The plus of TBS one is…the price.  :)) It’s 99.000 IDR.

Thank you, TBS, for another good product! :)

*bloop, bloop, do you see a pretty mermaid there and me diving along? I actually have some kind of phobia with sea-deep situation.  It just scares me.  Maybe because you aren’t stand on anything when you dive! Plus, it’s dark down there! O_o

Spritz On and Get Refreshed!

Looks familiar? Yeah! This Evian Facial Spray has been around for years, and when I was in elementary school, I saw a friend used this.  I’m interested and she sprayed once for me.  SO FRESH! Since that time, I’ve been wanting this! And finally, after I got 20 years old and now it’s 2012, I purchased one by spending 65.500 IDR (the real price is 69.000-something IDR, but there’s a promo on Century ;>)

Anyway, there are 3 points written on the packaging: moisturizes, refreshes, tones.  And I copy-paste the explanation from Evian’s website (http://www.evian.com/en_INT/56-evian-Facial-Spray):

Its unique mineral balance and neutral pH makes it the perfect freshen-upper for all skin types, including baby’s delicate skin. The millions of tiny micro-droplets are instantly absorbed, moisturizing hot thirsty skin, any time anywhere. Safe, natural nitrogen is used to propel the droplets (80% of the air we breathe is nitrogen) so the ozone stays healthy and happy too!
evian® offers its fabulous facial spray in 4 different sizes. The 50ml canister slips discretely into any handbag. The 150ml canister is ideal for travel. At home or at the beach, the whole family will love the 300ml and 400 ml maxi sizes.

Please recycle the canister. —> well, good point, Evian! Always remind people about 3R

I bought the small bottle, so I can carry it everywhere I go.  And, MAN, it’s very useful.  I can spray it anytime: when my skin got burned because I’m outside, when my skin felt dry of air conditionered-room, when I start to get sleepy but I have to be steady…and it works nicely! It hydrates well, it wakes me up. Yeah, I love Evian Brumisateur so much, oh, bring me to Paris! *please excuse the weirdness :* Another checklist is, it contains natural mineral water and some added minerals (I don’t really understand the ingredients list, but that’s all I could digested from it).

This product is evergreen famous, I think.  Have you ever tried it? :)

*By the way, that music sheet…I take a theory class, and I learn music arrangement & composition.  The teacher gave an assignment to make a choir composition with given chords…but…I…haven’t done it yet.  And it should be half-finished this week, actually! Mwaahahhaha. So I draw it to accompany my Evian bottle, because I need a spritz to get refreshed and do the homework.  XD

Let’s go somewhere peaceful and sing with your banjo! <3

-it’s almost Saturday night, ladies-

By the way, sorry, I haven’t reviewed a product or create any DIY mask recipe.  Been busy with piano and small kids out there! *and those kids, errrr, I really want to bring them home since they’re adorable and cute!* Plus it’s already Easter Holy Days.  From Thursday too Good Friday, and Easter Night and Easter Sunday.  My lovely friends in orchestra and me will be there on Easter Sunday’s ceremony…so, yeah, rehearsals. And I’m editing my novel! Yeay! If you want to know about my novel, here it is…

(18) Move Now, Not Later

correct this sentence:

Global warming will happen.

should be:

Global warming is happening.

conclusion:

Action required.  Without any postpone! ;)

SO MOVE NOW TO SAVE SOME OXYGEN! *brb*

blushing cheeks,

freak expressions,

wrong smiles,

sillly words,

oh, falling in love is such a colourful experience!

(17) Tap Off

You still let some water running from the tap while you foam your face? Or you brush your teeth with running water sound as a background music? Washing dishes without a pause?

Oh please, it’s an old school habit.  Now let’s spin the tap and stop the water flow when you don’t need it.  Brush your teeth in silence, foam your face and sing along.

Mix your creativity and your love to Earth to save water! :)

Happy April! <3
