Concert is Getting Nearer!

And I would like to say thank you to these items in the past.  The Schwing Eyeliner of The Balm, I've sold it.  That TBS Nature's Minerals foundation has been used up 'til the last sprinkle (horray!).  So thank you, thank you, lovelies, for you have been there with me through ups and downs. :)

I still have the Honey Shea Butter and use it as a clear mascara, anyway.

It's a photoshoot from my last year's orchestra preconcert.  Now I'm preparing for another concert! With no eyeliner and mascara! Yiiha! Bye, creepy noir-eye-make-up-cleansing at night in sleepy condition!

Ayo Habisin!

The Body Shop Deo Dry in Floral- ini bagus sebetulnya.  Nggak ada alumunium chlorohydrate.  Wanginya lucu.

100%Pure Lip and Cheek Tint in Peach Glow - super duper kesayangan, enak dipake, warnanya oke.  Cuma, kalau udah kelamaan takut kadaluarsa atau warnanya pudar.  Ini tinggal lima milimeter lagi sih.  Biar kecil, awet juga. Untung cuma beli satu. Ke depannya saya akan pakai lip glaze saja buat bibir + pipi sekaligus.  Soalnya, yang satu ini pakai beeswax.  Lebih berat bawaannya dan nyumbat kulit takutnya. :))

Jadi, teman-teman sesama penyayang Bumi, kalian sedang menghabiskan produk kecantikan apa? Cerita-cerita yuk di komentar bawah.

Jangan gampang keracunan ya, hati-hati. Godaan banyak! Hahaha :D

The Red Shade

Let's move to another 2 half-full packagings.  A hand cream and one lip stain.

Stuff I just wanna use up. Until they are empty! :D

Almost Famous, Almost There

Hey Doodles! How ya' doin'? LOL.  Forget my classic Memphis style talk, whatsoever.

I haven't prepared any review, honestly.  But I already hold some products to be chit-chatted about.  Not today! On this lovely Saturday, I'd like to motivate you and myself to start this 'Almost There' quest.  The point of this game is to check whether you already need to buy a new product, or not yet.  We're going to talk in details: separate some of my products into groups and check whether I will empty it soon or later.

Ah, to be quick, TADAA! There the first gang of Goggle-Five of the talk:

Aye, aye. 5 products in total! How's their condition?

Okay. Start with the concealer.  I rarely use this paste, so, okay, the reduction is just sooooo...small.  Can anyone find me a reason to use more concealer? :))

And this 4-years-old foundation? Horray! It's seriously almost there! :D Look at the very tiny amount on the corner.

And yes, I've been trying to use a body moisturizer religiously and sometimes I fail.

But anyway, I've been through 70% of the oil and it's nearly empty!

My two stick-formed face appliance (what?).  My sweet 100% Pure Lip & Cheek Tint is actually only a quarter more.  About the Babo Botanicals sunscreen, the remaining stick is invisible, but, I think it's not a long way to go.  Furthermore, it is already a bit dirty and get more sticky.  Is there something wrong with this sunscreen? :/

As you guys maybe have recognized, I have way too many products.  Sometimes, I have double or triple  stuff with exactly the same function.  What a waste! What a pile!

To make your sight better, here I paste the picture again:

Thankfully, I've finished some of them: Cocoa Love Body Butter, solid perfume, one of the handcream, two jars of Aromanaturals, the scrub, oh, c'est tout. Yes, at least I've tried.  And, to make the challenge easier, now I will show you the products that the status is 'Almost There' a.k.a Tinggal Sedikit or just call them 'near empty'!

So, at least, for this month, I promise myself to empty those 5 bottles and jars and containers! For tidiness' sake! Natural products aren't super strong to be kept too long, though.  Seriously, people, we really have to reduce buying without thinking.  I've learned it my way.  What about you? Do you have a pile of cosmetics you definitely frustated with? I guess, eventhough we love to possess A LOT of beauty products, we have the limit.

Because, unused items will be a stack of trash.  And the trash would be swallowed by happy fishes out there in the ocean.  Imagine yourself, what would happened after that. Note: the case is, trash' material is non-biodegradable plastic. Sad.   :')

Yes, I know, I will still buying stuff.  But I'll reduce it.  I'll pay for what I need.  Not paying the pre-rubbish items. Do a swap or buy preloved if needed. Yeah, let's hold hands and learn the new habit together, folks! Yippie!

My Stack of Stuff

Bonjour, People! How's your day?
Well, I have a good day--so far--since it's still in the midday.
Anyway, I want to share my, uhm, tiny problem I have here. What problem? This!

That? No, it's those.  It's plural. There's a development in my toiletries amount.  I don't know what is the trigger... Hahaha. But these are so many, still, for my standard! If you want to see my previous collection, see this and that

The picture above shows all I have except brushes, eyelash curler, sponges, et cetera.  Oh, and nail polishes aren't included.  I have 3 bottles of that.

So, after seeing previous collection posts, what do you think? Yes. I have way too many products.  I have collected so many things during a year. Now let's take a look at each group carefully:

thankfully, everyone have different function. so it's not very ineffective. but that foundation, I already keep it for 4 years!

the scrub is a souvenir from my cousin, the solid perfume is now 2 years old, and that deodorant is not used oftenly.

nah. here's the most doubling part! i have 2 hand cream tubes--one from my friend (the apple one), 1 body butter, 1 body oil, and a tin of honey-shea butter! i thought it's okay to have 3-4 products to moisturize, in case i need them in separated moments (butter for night, oil for day--for example), but in fact, no. i give up.

i rarely have my eyes area painted--but i have this much things around.  ah, what did i do? anyone wants to adopt my stuff? i never touch the tosca eyeliner and mascara! LOL.

other treatment: hair mist, face vitamin creams, nose pack, bentonite clay.

and these lippies, fellas. i can't use them all the time! now i try to use my lip butter religiously first as a start.

Now this is what I think about them:

Maybe you have the answer for me? Or you have a similar product with me and would love to tell me about it? ;)

Happy Tuesday, lovelies! :*

I Found You Again, Baby!

Normally, I would say, "Hi, what's up blog?"
Hahaha.  But I'm eccentric, I won't say that.  Instead, I'll speak to you like, "Wow, it's been a long time!"
Sounds similar? Whatever.

Let's jump into the case itself.  I'm here to tell you guys.  I eat fruits everyday now! Mostly avocados--in a smooth form, mixed with cereals, or other fruits.
And, talkin' about fruits, I have a new fruity product from The Body Shop! Yes, you don't mispell it. I still bought TBS' stuff if I like it, and the ingredients are okay. :D

Anyway, but why suddenly a hand cream? I'm attacked by...a sale. Not only that.  There's one with identical scent with my fave Strawberry Purée Body Lotion. I mean very identical.  And thankfully, it contains NO parabens.  And if I read carefully, well, right, it's better than the ancestor too!

The name of this stuff is: Strawberry Hand Cream

And it's on sale last Thursday.  Only IDR 69.000 from 79.000.  <3

Olala!
By the way, this is the reason behind my purchase:

Aqua/Water (Solvent/Diluent), Glycerin (Humectant), Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride (Emollient), Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis Oil/Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil (Skin Conditioning Agent - Occlusive), Sodium Polyacrylate (Film Former/Viscosity Increasing Agent), Parfum/Fragrance (Fragrance), Cetyl Alcohol (Emulsifier), Pentaerythrityl Distearate (Skin Conditioning Agent - Emollient), Phenoxyethanol (Preservative), Caprylyl Glycol (Skin Conditioning Agent), Cetearyl Alcohol (Emulsifier), Cetearyl Glucoside (Surfactant), Glycine Soja Oil/Glycine Soja (Soybean) Oil (Emollient/Skin Conditioner), Orbignya Oleifera Seed Oil (Emollient), Fragaria Ananassa Seed Oil/Fragaria Ananassa (Strawberry) Seed Oil (Natural Additive), Butyrospermum Parkii Butter/Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter (Skin Conditioning Agent - Emollient), Myristamidopropyl PG-Dimonium Chloride Phosphate (Skin-Conditioning Agent), Sodium Stearoyl Glutamate (Skin Conditioning Agent), Xanthan Gum (Viscosity Modifier), Disodium EDTA (Chelating Agent), Limonene (Fragrance Ingredient), Myristyl Alcohol (Emulsifier/Emollient), Stearyl Alcohol (Emollient), Cinnamal (Fragrance Ingredient), Citric Acid (pH Adjuster), Caramel (Colorant), CI 14700/Red 4 (Colorant).

Wait! What a long list.  XD LOL. Every explanation of each material's function make it longer.
Anyway.  Paraben-free. No mineral oil. No BHA/BHT. All seems (quite) safe.

And it works actually the same with the Purée Body Lotion! Not sticky, not heavy.  Just happy! :D

If only they improve the naturality of their ingredients, it might be sooo adorable.  But for a while, I'm satisfied by this hand cream.  Thank you, TBS! ;)

When Life Gives You Lemon, Grab A Cocoa :)

Hello, yellow!
Who loves chocolate? :D I do! And I believe most of you do, too!
Chocolate comes from cocoa, a 'fruit' first found in America, where Indian used to live, and used by them as beverages.  The real cocoa is bitter, as appears on dark chocolate bars you see.

Cocoa or kakao contains antioxidant, plus phenylhetylamine, a natural chemical compound you get when you're falling in love.  It simply makes you happy! So, there's no reason to avoid chocolate anyway.  Who cares it possibly causes acnes...

Beside as a snack, cocoa is functionally functional as skin remedy! Trust me.  Cocoa butter is great to moisturize your skin, and it protects the barrier.  But, how many cocoa butter-containing products that are served without parabens, additional glycol groups, and so on? Well, not much here.  We could find some clean products in US/UK/Europe, but only a little in Indonesia (not talking about the brand--it's about the distribution). I tried The Body Shop's Chocomania body butter and not very impressed.  The cocoa butter line too, it doesn't attract me--thinking about the preservatives, the price, and the smell.  I like the Chocomania scent, it reminds me of a chocolate drink with...I don't know...hazelnut? Something retro, lah.  Sadly, the ingredients list isn't very handsome.  And it's overly heavy on my skin, I don't know why.  :(

Thankfully, we have Utama Spice.  Made in Bali. And finally opened a store in Bandung my lovely-on-progress hometown.  And it's like truly natural! Sure, I bought some stuff there.  And to stay strict with the context, let's just talk about the Cocoa Love body butter! :D

It is kept in a simple plastic jar, with an interesting label design.  Behind, an ingredients list.  And there, written:

This is a supreme hydrating Cocoa seed butter great for sensitive or sun damaged skin. It's the healing power of love coming to you in chocolate form

Ingredients:
Cocos Nucifera (Virgin Coconut) Oil, Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Butter, Vanilla Planifolia (Vanilla) Pod, Cinnamomum Burmani (Cinnamon) Bark.
Add some flour, whipped cream, and colourful sprinkles and you'll get a cute tart, not a body butter, silly!

Alright.  Sounds yummy? Sounds trustable? No beeswax, which I'm quite happy with, because previously, there's a beeswax inside--I've applied a smaller amount last year, got a sample from Lynn.  It's a little lighter and absorbs into skin better than before.  But I...I don't know why they got rid of the beeswax, while they claimed on the website that 'A base of virgin coconut oil, aloe vera and beeswax, our body butters provide natural hydration for longer lasting protection and moisture retention, a central component of  our aromatherapy skin care ritual. Pleasure your senses and feed your skin.'

Well, perhaps the cocoa butter itself has take a place of beeswax--since they have same profession--protecting the skin.  :D

My overall thought: the scent is naturally yummy, it could help my hunger... the texture is great, it's a little hard maybe, you should melt it first with your palms or on the skin, let your body's higher degree count melt it.  And uhm, yes, it basically moisturizes your skin perfectly without feeling any stickiness.  It will get in your skin! Trust me.  If I sleep with this butter on, I wake up normally with a supple skin.  Thought, not as magical as Aromanaturals' effect.

If you're curious about the other Utama Spice products, please come to their website or offline store in Ubud and Bandung, and I heard that they are available on Jakarta's Guardians too.  :D

And if you need a little help, uhm, this is my review on their body lotion! ;)

Have a great Saturday, fellas :D

Hair, Oh, Hair

These 3 musketeers are my hair-salvation-army.  They take away bad-hair-day! :D

tbs buriti baby hair brush, l'occitane brume mist, homemade dry shampoo

Hair is our mustikaMahkota.  Crown.  We have many colours and type of hair in the world, and they all are beautiful! :D

Everyone has different norms about hair life.  Some people may not wash it at all! In case!

I do love using natural-derived aloe vera gel on my hair lately, 30 minutes before I wash my hair with, ehm, a soap bar.  (I do wash my hair with some special natural soap bar)
I'm not into sulphatey life, so I choose to use Nicole's Natural Shower Gel or a soap bar sans SLS instead.

The only SLS I haven't pull out from my toiletries is the one in my toothpaste and...oh, some handsoap, and dishwasher, and maybe the liquid detergent.  Crap! I'm still surrounded by SLS (and betaines, and the other...) anywhere! XD

If I find my hair stinky, I spritz the hair mist.  And, that hair brush, what is it for? I use it to apply my dry shampoo more properly. You can use a make up brush too, by the way.  But I prefer to have a proper brush...for hair.  Oh, and, yes, the brush is not from 'goats and co.'. It's synthetic, thanks God.
And luckily, I got that baby hair brush with 50% discount in The Body Shop.  When I meant to be with something, I always get some price reduction! :))

How do you treat your hair? I would love to know your way, guys. :)

A Body Butter I Used to Love

    always love Vanilla! :D

I bought this at The Body Shop in 2012.  I was searching for vanilla-scented products and as usual, I tried to find one in dearest TBS
The Vanilla Bliss body butter was  one delightful choice of their Christmas specials.
I didn't find it outstanding from the-nose-taste-side.  I wanted a sweet-sugary vanilla.  The Vanilla Bliss smells more like a butter cream with no spices or sugar.

Anyway, the texture is fine. It's thick, buttery, not heavy.  I used to apply it every single night to keep my skin moisturized.

The other body butter I've tried from The Body Shop are: Strawberry (which is sweet, sour, and sticky, but lovely!), Moroccan Rose (got it as point redeeming's gift), and Chocomania (absolutely sticky, but luckily smells delicious).

Happy Friday! <3

An Exhibition

Two years behind in my journey of finding the best beauty stuff, I made this post about my toiletries collection.
I also painted my karas puhun and use it as a storage for those bottles, cans, jars, et cetera.

I'm changing a lot these past months.  I do a little spending ban, gain more wisdom, and thankfully I do simplify my body and skin care routine.  So I spend more on make up and other decorative stuff I need.  And happily, I have found my holy grail shower gel and body lotion manufacturer: Nicole's Natural.  LOL.

I will be boring somehow, someday, but I love their products.  And once I fall in love with something, I'm faithful.  I discovered that I'm not seeking more and more body care stack.  All I think about is to use up everything I already got at home, and refilling my Nicole's Natural bottles.  After trying their lines, I end up planning to refill only one shower gel and one body lotion from one same line, the Romancing Rose.  My Mom and I love it.

Okay, by the way, I was talking about my wooden box, isn't it? If you clicked the karas puhun link above, you'll see my empty box. FYI, now the box is stuffed:

What do you think? :D I love that my toiletries collection is more monochrome and simple now.  But, hey, where's my make up?

They're here in a customized box! :D

handcrafted ;)

I pasted grass-like paper on the base to give a green effect, plus to remind me to stay green! Not all in the place is a truly green product, but I will try to restock it with greener products along the way.  :)

Uhm, yes, I also have a separated reused box for my make up brushes and other tiny particles:

once, it's a Vanity Trove box, I modified the coverage ;)
I only have brushes from 3 brands (click to read my story with them): The Body Shop, 100% Pure, and Ecotools.  I have around 7 brushes and only use 4 of them repeatedly.  Another brushes in my house are painting brushes for different paints.  Aclyric, oil, poster colour... okay, out of topic, People! Those two sponge and puff are even more jobless here.  Haven't find the function yet.

That's all I have! Actually there are soap bars, but I keep it in the other place.  And nail polishes, these are my colourful multifunctional paints...yes I convert them into art tools.  Oh, those are alumunium tealight candle holders actually.  I don't want to trash them out so I made microsize-matter's container.  Painted them all with my nail polishes. :p

I have nail polishes from Innisfree, Skinfood, and Etude House.  The best one comes from Innisfree.  My Skinfood has weird colour on my nails, and the EH's texture is too sticky to be true.  The metallic blue is actually a gift from my Mom.

Before we close today's exhibition, let's read the typography work I made with only 2 devices: Sharpie Permanent Marker and Playcolor 2 on recycled paper grabbed from an empty schedule book.

have a Wise Wednesday! :)

A Glossy Life

image

Recently, I have two lip glosses.  One from The Body Shop, the strawberry one I got when it’s 10% off in store.  So it was only around IDR 71.100. I bought it last month, because it’s simply irresistible somehow.  (._.)a

The gloss is good, though I don’t know how good a lip gloss should be to be called a qualified one. It has sheer reddish colour and the strawberry scent is really fruity! I love it.  But maybe I’m not that much in love with the ingredients:

Polybutene (Binder), Ricinus Communis Seed Oil/Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil (Emollient), Dextrin Palmitate (Emulsifying Agent), Diisopropyl Dimer Dilinoleate (Skin Conditioning Agent), Cocos Nucifera Oil/Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil (Emollient/Hair Conditioner), Passiflora Edulis Seed Oil (Emollient/Skin Conditioner), Passiflora Incarnata Seed Oil (Emollient/Skin Conditioning Agent), Sclerocarya Birrea Seed Oil (Skin Conditioning Agent), Hydrogenated Polyisobutene (Emollient), Aroma/Flavor (Flavour), Cera Alba/Beeswax (Emulsifier/Emollient), Tocopheryl Acetate (Antioxidant), Panthenol (Hair Conditioning Agent/Skin Conditioning Agent), Benzyl Benzoate (Solvent), Tocopherol (Antioxidant), Linalool (Fragrance Ingredient), Limonene (Fragrance Ingredient), Barium Sulfate (Opacifier), CI 15850/Red 6 (Colorant).

I’m not into beeswax, actually.  And I would love it even better if there are more natural & vegan ingredients there. But it’s okay and still tolerable for me.  I took it because I need a lip gloss, and the only brand I trust about being animal-friendly and being quite wise about what they put in their products is The Body ShopAnd I can bring back the packaging after it’s run out someday.  So, I forgive myself.  LOL.

Oh, and one more.  It’s not really long lasting on me.  :) But it’s not a big deal for me.  It’s tiny, I can keep it in my pouch and whenever I need touch ups, it will be there. :)

Last week, a friend of my brother whom I know too went to Hong Kong and Singapore.  Surprisingly, she brought me some souvenirs! There are jellybeans (mmm, yummy!), Merlion keychain, and that lip gloss from Forever 21.  Why can’t I resist it, though I know it doesn’t contain ingredients I love? No, man.  I forgive it to be the unnatural one, but it’s claimed as Cruelty Free.  And it’s in Coral shade! I. LOVE. THAT. TONE. Viva la pantone.  It’s a gift, too. And it smells like sweet candy or bubblegum.  Mmmh.

But still, let me paste the ingredients list printed on the tube:

Polybutene, Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Ozokerite, Polyoxyethylene Stearyl Cetyl Ether/ Glyceryl Monostearate, Sorbitan Sesquoileate, Mineral oil, Glyceryl Stearate, Phenoexyethanol, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Caprylic/ Capric Triglyceride, Ethylhexyl Hydroxystearate, Synthetic Wax, Titanium Dioxide, Fragrance (parfum), Benzyl Alcohol, Benzyl Benzoate, d-Limonene. May contain: Manganese Violet (CI 77742), D&C Red NO.21 Lake (CI 45380:3), D&C Red 6 Ba Lake (CI 15850:2)

Note: The feeling I get when I wrote those stuffs above equals the feeling I catch whenever I see a bad design. I don’t discover anything lovely there.  :’( For being lovely in colour and scent, I give this gloss 8 out of 10.  But for that creepy ingredients, it’s…0,5 out of 10.  Call me extreme.  :’)

Anyway, thank you for the souvenir, still! I don’t even think I’ll get something from you. I’m going to use this til the tube is empty.  :)  *hugs*

So that’s my glossy side of life.  What about you? ;)

*** i made the doodle truly with my heart, so don’t copy it and paste it somewhere else as yours.  it will broke my heart! thank you. :*
